Dr Magdolna Lőrinc

Research Associate

Magdolna joined the Sustainable Care team at the University of Sheffield in May 2018 as a Research Associate, investigating how migration, diversity and intersectionality affect experiences of care.

Previously, Magdolna worked at the Social Policy Research Centre at Middlesex University London where she was involved in a range of research and knowledge transfer projects of local, national and international scale. She conducted research with a number of community organisations, mapping migrant communities’ welfare needs and evaluating existing provision, among others. Her main research interests include migration and minority groups, social exclusion and inequality, community organisations, service provision and needs, and social change. She has undertaken her doctoral studies within a large international FP7 project, Reducing Early School Leaving in Europe, funded by the European commission, researching young people’s aspirations and implementation strategies. Magdolna has a background in ethnography and qualitative research methods.

Within the Sustainable Care programme, Magdolna was working with Dr Majella Kilkey and Professor Louise Ryan on the work package “Care ‘In’ and ‘Out of’ Place: towards sustainable wellbeing in mobile and diverse contexts”.
