Dr Cate Goodlad

Dr Cate Goodlad began working on the ESRC Sustainable Care programme in May 2018. She is contributing to the work package looking at Delivering Care at Home: emerging models and their implications for sustainability and wellbeing.
Led by Dr Diane Burns and working in conjunction with Dr Kate Hamblin, the team will be exploring how approaches to care at home, technology use and organisational design inter-relate in innovative home care provision and how this affects sustainability and wellbeing.
Cate says “I was attracted to the Sustainable Care programme for the opportunity it provided to examine some of the current issues within home care provision, particularly around job quality and sustainability. I am looking forward to working with such experienced and respected colleagues”.
Cate has recently worked on the Doing Care Differently project led by Dr Diane Burns at the University of Sheffield in partnership with Local Authority commissioners to experiment with innovating home care provision.
She previously worked in the 3rd sector and was involved with a Social Prescribing project to help people with physical and mental long-term health conditions access community facilities and activities to help alleviate social isolation.
